Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max launches with 200 MP telephoto camera with huge sensor

Together with the unusual Huawei Pura X Max, Huawei today also unveiled the Pura 90 Pro Max, a flagship smartphone that stands out from all its competitors in terms of both its design and camera features. Huawei has opted for a gigantic, triangular camera module, while the IP69-certified and therefore water-resistant housing is available in five eye-catching colors.
With a height of 8.1 millimeters and a weight of 230 grams, the Pura 90 Pro Max is not particularly lightweight, but Huawei can install a 6,000 mAh battery, which can be charged via USB-C with 100 watts or wirelessly with 80 watts. The Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max has a 50 megapixel f/1.4 - 4.0 main camera with 1/1.28 inch sensor, a 40 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 200 MP f/2.6 periscope telephoto camera with 1/1.28 inch sensor, 4x zoom, OIS and macro mode. A dedicated sensor should enable a more accurate color reproduction.
Huawei has also installed a 13 MP f/2.0 selfie camera in a punch-hole in the 6.9-inch display. The screen is based on an LTPO OLED panel with a frame rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2,880 x 1,308 pixels. The screen is protected with improved Kunlun Glass that is equipped with an anti-reflective coating. The HiSilicon Kirin 9030S ARM chip promises better AI performance than older chips. The Pura 90 Pro Max supports a dual SIM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and satellite emergency calling, although the latter is only available in China.
