Due to the high demand of AI data centers for memory modules, RAM and data storage have become very expensive. This can now also be seen in smartphones:
The new Motorola Moto G67 for example, boasts an exceptionally bright AMOLED display and impressive battery life. However, the current RAM crisis is clearly leaving its mark: only 4 GB are installed - a decision that noticeably impairs the user experience.
Display and design: bright strengths
The 6.78-inch OLED display of the Moto G67 impresses with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness that ensures good readability even in direct sunlight. The color reproduction is vivid, the workmanship solid and the design modern.
The device is comfortable to hold thanks to its leather-like materials and clean finish and has a high-quality appearance.
RAM crisis: Only 4 GB - a bitter setback
The current memory crisis is evident in the RAM: instead of the originally expected 8 GB RAM, the Moto G67 only has 4 GB. This leads to noticeable limitations when multitasking and using demanding applications.
Apps have to be reloaded more frequently and it is often not possible to switch directly between background apps, which significantly reduces user comfort.
Comparison with previous models: Progress with compromises
Compared to older models such as the Moto G64 (2024), Motorola has made significant progress with the display and battery.
However, the RAM configuration seems like a step backwards: while the predecessor was delivered with 6, 8 or even 12 GB of RAM, the G67 has to make do with half.
The camera performance remains solid, but not outstanding, and the software offers the tried-and-tested Motorola experience, which is close to stock Android.
Conclusion: Bright display, dark RAM cloud
The Moto G67 is a bright, durable smartphone with good workmanship, but suffers from the 4 GB RAM, which does not do the device justice.
Those who value smooth multitasking will have to look for alternatives. However, if you simply want a bright display for very little money, you should take a closer look at the device.
