Vivo X500 Pro Max leaked with next-gen Sony camera sensor

The Vivo X300 series is a flagship camera-focused lineup of smartphones. The company recently introduced two new models in the lineup: the Vivo X300s and the Vivo X300 Ultra. Now, a tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo has shared the camera specifications of an upcoming Vivo X500 series model.
While the tipster did not reveal the exact name of the model, comments on the post have pointed toward the Vivo X500 Pro Max, a device that the same source had previously tipped. For context, an earlier leak shared chipset configurations of the Vivo X500 lineup. It revealed that the standard Vivo X500 may use the Dimensity 9600 chipset, while the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max may feature the Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.
The new leak suggests that the Vivo X500 Pro Max may feature a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is tipped to use the Sony LYT-838, which is expected to be an upcoming 50MP 1/1.28-inch sensor.
Notably, the LYT-838 is expected to support LOFIC technology, which may improve dynamic range and low-light performance. This would be an upgrade over the Sony LYT-828 used in the Vivo X300 Pro, which lacks LOFIC technology.
The camera setup is also tipped to include a 200MP telephoto periscope lens and an upgraded ultra-wide lens. Additionally, the source reveals the phone may pack a 7,000mAh battery.
Since Vivo has not officially confirmed the X500 Pro Max, the above details should be treated with a pinch of salt. Following the launch timeline of the Vivo X300 series, the X500 series may debut in Q4 2026.
