Vivo X500 series leak reveals new chipset strategy

The Vivo X300 series was introduced in October 2025, comprising the standard X300 and the X300 Pro. Both smartphones featured the Dimensity 9500, a flagship MediaTek chipset. Now, a leak sheds light on the processors that may power the forthcoming Vivo X500 flagship series.
According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, MediaTek will launch two chipsets in the upcoming flagship Dimensity series: the standard Dimensity 9600 and the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
The tipster claims that the Vivo X500 series will be the first to utilize these chipsets. The standard X500 may use the Dimensity 9600, while the X500 Pro may use the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Notably, the Vivo X500 series is also expected to see a major battery upgrade, with capacity potentially reaching around 7,000mAh. Apart from Vivo, Oppo is also expected to use the Dimensity 9600 chipset for the Find X10 series.
For now, there is no official word on the Vivo X500 series, so the above information should be treated with caution. In other news, Qualcomm is also said to be working on two tiers in its next flagship chipset lineup, with the successor to the OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon) tipped to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro.
