Galaxy S27 redesign concept renders are popping up and fans are divided

After about six years, Samsung is expected to redesign the back of its Galaxy S series flagships. The reason for this redesign is said to be built-in magnets, something Samsung failed to deliver with the Galaxy S26 series. While the company is still considering what the final design will be, concept renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra have surfaced, and they show a familiar camera island layout.
The Galaxy S27 series is shaping up to be a more significant upgrade than its predecessor, and not just in terms of specifications. The Korean giant is said to change how the rear cameras are arranged to fit magnets in the phones. Leaker Ice Universe has shared what seem to be AI-generated concept renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and they show a horizontal camera island/bar that looks similar to Pixel phones.
The horizontal island houses three camera sensors, missing one, as a four-camera setup is typical of Galaxy S-Ultra phones. Another X user named Sawyer Galox shared similar-looking concept renders but in a different color and added a fourth camera.
As expected, fans are divided. Some feel it looks cool as it harkens back to the Galaxy S10 series. Also, with this layout, the phone wouldn’t wobble as much as it does with the current layout. Others feel it’s too similar to the Pixel lineup, losing its own identity in a sea of flagships that look the same. Some also believe that this kind of redesign will not happen, and that Samsung will come up with something better.
Samsung has not shared any information on the Galaxy S27 series, but the leak about a redesign was from a credible leaker citing a single source related to the company.
