Honor's upcoming compact flagship phone could dominate the Galaxy S27 and Xiaomi 18

After taking the wraps off the Magic V6 last month, Honor already has its sights set on its next-gen premium phones, with details of the Honor Magic 9 now surfacing in the wild.
As shared by leaker RODENT950, the Honor Magic 9 will succeed the Magic 8 as the company’s base model flagship, directly rivaling next-gen devices like the Xiaomi 18 and Samsung Galaxy S27. Reportedly, the Magic 9 will be a smaller affair than the Magic 8, thanks to a 6.36-inch display vs the 6.58-inch screen on the current-gen model.
Interestingly, the Honor Magic 9 will apparently come equipped with a larger battery despite its smaller chassis. The source claims the phone will feature an 8,000 mAh unit, up from the 7,000 mAh one on the Magic 8.
Camera-wise, the Magic 9 could be the most powerful among its peers. It's tipped to sport a 1/1.28-inch 200 MP main camera, a 64 MP OV64B and periscope lens combo for zoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide snapper. All of those effectively ensure, at least hardware-wise, that the Magic 9 could launch as a particularly attractive option in its segment.
