The non-Pro Honor Magic 8 has been introduced in China. Like the Pro Model, it comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, but sees some spec cuts in the camera department. The starting launch price in China is around $630.

Honor has launched two flagship phones in China, the Magic 8 Pro and Magic 8. Among the two, the non-Pro is slightly more affordable. It's even powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, but there are some spec changes when compared to the Pro model.

Among the changes is a different camera configuration on the back. The Magic 8 features a 1/1.56-inch 50 MP primary sensor with OIS, which is paired with a 64 MP telephoto and a 50 MP ultrawide. As for the front, there isn't a 3D depth sensor, but the non-Pro still gets a 50 MP selfie shooter.

Like the Pro model, the Honor Magic 8 comes with the AiMAGE Engine. The company touts that it, combined with the capable camera setup, allows the phone to deliver bright and detail-rich night shots. It also enhances the color, making pictures seem more lifelike.

On the front, the Magic 8 sports a 6.58-inch LTPO OLED with a 120 Hz refresh rate. While there isn't a 3D depth camera for biometrics, it has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. A 7,000 mAh battery powers the internals of the smartphone, and it has support for 80 W wireless charging and 90 W fast wired charging (100 W Ugreen Nexode curr. $49.99 on Amazon).

As for the price, the Honor Magic 8 starts at CNY 4,449 in China, around $630, which is for the configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The top-end variant, on the other hand, comes with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, and it costs CNY 4,999, about $700. The company didn't share when this Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship will go global.
