Round, square, transparent or even with a velvet cover? Thanks to its Ricoh GR collaboration, Realme not only plans to revamp the Realme GT 8 Pro's camera in terms of quality, but also provide variety and customization. Not only will there be different colors and shapes, but also more specialized solutions that can be exchanged via a DIY process, as shown in images and a promotional video.

Rumors had already been circulating for some time that Realme was planning interchangeable camera modules for the Realme GT8 Pro. Now, it has been officially confirmed thanks to numerous photos and a promotional video. The Realme GT 8 Pro will be available, at least in China, in three colors: white/beige, green and dark blue. Official press photos have now been released for the first time.

Round is standard on the Ricoh GR

The Realme GT 8 Pro comes with a round camera module as standard, but the first phones shipped will also include a square module, at least in China. The whole thing can be replaced using two screws, so it's not complicated. It remains to be seen whether accessory manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon and bring out further creations for customizing the camera module. The teaser video below suggests that this may be the case.

Hands-On and real images with the Realme GT 8 Pro

A few hands-on and real images of the first Ricoh GR flagship camera in mobile phone format are currently circulating on Chinese social network Weibo, and some of the camera decorations can also be seen there. Official sample photos have already shown what the camera is capable of, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship with a 2K 144 Hz display is also said to be ideal for gamers. A launch date has already been officially confirmed in China, and a specific date is expected globally in November, ahead of the OnePlus 15 launch.
