The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro is getting a new software version. Update 18.81 is a stable update, meaning it will be rolled out to all users and not just to participants in the beta program. As usual, this will be rolled out in waves, so it may not yet be available for all users. The update is only intended to fix bugs and does not add any new features, but this is hardly surprising, as Garmin tends to release new smartwatches (such as the more or less brand-new Fenix 8 Pro) with new features, which then often end up on older smartwatches as part of software updates.
The changelog for software version 18.81 contains only three entries. Specifically, an error message that would previously appear after exiting a navigation option has been fixed. Furthermore, an issue that could cause the incorrect calculation of an authentication code should no longer occur. Lastly, the interface should no longer freeze when a nearby point is marked as a reference point.
The update to version 18.81 comes just one week after the update to software version 18.68. This also primarily fixes various bugs, such as in relation to Messenger, and was intended to improve the automatic brightness setting. This software update did not introduce any new features either.
