Garmin has released the D2 Mach 2 premium aviator smartwatch in the US. Arriving as a follow-up to the D2 Mach 1, it has a refreshed design and extra details on color maps. It has been released alongside the cheaper D2 Air X15 smartwatch.
The model is available in two sizes: 47 mm and 51 mm. The smaller watch has a titanium bezel and an Oxford Brown Leather Band, while the larger version has a carbon gray Diamond-like carbon (DLC) titanium bezel and a matching vented titanium bracelet. Plus, each watch also comes with a QuickFit Pilot blue/black silicone watch band.
Both versions of the Garmin D2 Mach 2 have an AMOLED touchscreen display, protected by sapphire glass. They offer advanced flight mapping tools, with GPS, HSI and “the most detailed color mapping” of any Garmin model, according to the brand. This model has a built-in speaker and microphone, with support for voice commands and the ability to take or make calls. Plus, there is an adjustable brightness flashlight with a red shift mode, which should have less impact on your night vision. On top of this, there are various health and fitness tracking tools, including wrist-based heart rate measurements, an ECG app, Evening Report and Body Battery energy level monitoring.
You can now buy the Garmin D2 Mach 2 smartwatch in the US at the brand’s online store. The 47mm version is priced at $1,349.99, while the larger D2 Mach 2 51mm retails for $1,499.99. For context, the older Garmin D2 Mach 1, offered in the same two sizes, starts from $1,299.99.
