Garmin has returned to the Venu X1, a squircle-shaped smartwatch that remains the most expensive in its Venu line-up (curr. $759 on Amazon). To recap, the Venu X1 last received a stable update around six weeks ago when Garmin rolled out a Wi-Fi download bug fix.
The company has been busy working towards issuing a substantial stable update over on its Beta Program, though. In fact, v15.xx beta development has been underway for almost a month at this point after the introduction of Beta 15.05 at the end of September.
Now the company has moved onto Beta 15.10, which it appears to have restricted to a manual installation for the time being. As a result, one must navigate through Main menu, Settings, System and then Software Update on a Beta Program-enrolled Venu X1 before tapping 'Check For Updates'.
Once Beta 15.10 has been downloaded and installed, the Venu X1 should have access to three new watch faces. Additionally, Garmin claims to have added a glance that tracks health data changes and overall wellbeing. Moreover, the Venu X1 can finally be powered down without needing to enter a passcode beforehand. On top of that, Garmin states that Beta 15.10 includes the following bug fixes:
- Fixes an issue that could cause a voice note to be replayed at half speed
- Fixes an issue that could cause the device to reboot when receiving multiple smart notifications in a row
- Fixes an issue that could cause the notification number on the watch face to be incorrect
- Fixes an issue that could cause the speaker to be muted or for the device to reboot after attempting to answer a phone call while playing music through the speakers
- Fixes an issue that could result in the evening report not displaying at the proper time
- Reduces click sound at the beginning of a voice note
- Various bug fixes and improvements
