Garmin has revealed the new Venu X1 smartwatch. This is a premium wearable joining existing Venu series watches like the Venu 3 (curr. $349.99 at Amazon). The company indicates that this new smartwatch features its biggest screen yet, a 2-inch AMOLED display protected by scratch-resistant sapphire lens. The square screen has a 448 x 486 px resolution, though a peak brightness measurement is not given.
The Venu X1 is also said to have Garmin’s thinnest watch case, measuring 41 x 46 x 7.9 mm (~1.61 x 1.81 x 0.31 inches). With a titanium caseback and fiber-reinforced polymer casing, it is lightweight at 40 g (~1.4 oz) with a ComfortFit band. Like the brand’s other smartwatches, it offers round-the-clock health and wellness monitoring. Features include HRV status, Body Battery energy monitoring, Morning Report and advanced sleep tracking, including the new Breathing Variations tool.
Garmin’s new Venu X1 also has a built-in LED flashlight, over 100 sports apps and preloaded TopoActive maps. On top of this, there is an integrated speaker and microphone, enabling you to make calls from the watch or use voice commands. Users can receive smart notifications from a connected iOS or Android phone, with an integrated keyboard that you can use to reply. There is also support for Garmin Pay contactless payments and a Find My Phone tool. The watch is said to run for up to eight days in smartwatch mode.
The Garmin Venu X1 smartwatch will be available to order from June 18th. Both the Black with Slate Titanium Caseback and Black ComfortFit Nylon Band and Moss with Titanium Caseback and Moss ComfortFit Nylon Band variants will be priced at $799.99/£679.99/€799.99.
