Amazfit is rolling out software version 3.8.5.1 for the T-Rex 3 smartwatch. This update arrives around a month after version 3.7.5.1; this earlier app update brought optimizations for the heart rate activity for swimming, new mountain peak height data and adjustable map styles.
The release notes for software version 3.8.5.1 indicate that there are more map-related tools. Firstly, there is a new page where T-Rex 3 users can view the distance to their next waypoint while navigating. There are also notifications when you arrive at a waypoint, and map contour lines are said to have been optimized. Another listed improvement is for the map transfer process over Bluetooth, though Amazfit does not provide more detail.
On top of this, the smartwatch can now suggest downloading a linked map when you send a route to the device. According to Amazfit, the new software improves the stability of the forward direction indicator found on the workout track page. Plus, the system stability is said to have been optimized.
Software version 3.8.5.1 is rolling out in phases to users of the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch (curr. $224.99 at Amazon). When it is available in your region, it can be downloaded through the Zepp App when you go to Profile > Amazfit T-Rex 3 > System Update. The release notes for this update were shared by various users on Reddit and Facebook.
