Amazfit releases new premium Active 2 Square smartwatch globally

The Amazfit Active 2 Square smartwatch, also known as the Active 2S smartwatch, has been released in countries worldwide. This new wearable was rumored earlier this year and has already appeared in leaked product listings at retailers. It joins the Active 2 Round smartwatch, which was launched at the start of 2025.

The Active 2 Square has a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with up to 2,000 nits brightness, protected by Sapphire crystal glass. This is surrounded by a stainless steel frame, with the watch measuring 43.3 x 36.9 x 9 mm (~1.7 x 1.5 x 0.4 inches). It comes with two straps: a black leather option and a red silicone band for when you workout.

Amazfit’s new Active 2 Square smartwatch has many of the brand’s health and fitness tracking features. The wearable is equipped with the BioTracker 6.0 with an upgraded heart rate tracking algorithm, matching the accuracy of the more expensive T-Rex 3 watch. A barometer allows users to track activities like skiing, and the gyroscope is used for sleep tracking. There is support for over 160 activities, including HYROX Race and smart Strength Training modes. It offers GPS with turn-by-turn navigation and support for offline maps. Plus, users can track their heart rate variability (HRV) and their recovery with the Readiness score.

The brand’s Zepp Flow AI assistant brings support for voice commands and Android smartphone users can respond to messages with an on-watch keyboard or the speech-to-text tool. On top of this, users in Europe can use Zepp Pay to make contactless payments from the watch, as is the case for the Active 2 Round Premium. According to Amazfit, the watch can run for up to 10 days between charges with typical use.

You can now buy the Amazfit Active 2 Square smartwatch for $149.99/£149.90/€149.90. This makes it $20/£20/€20 more expensive than the Active 2 Round Premium.
