The Amazfit Active 2 and Active 2 Premium smartwatches are receiving another firmware update. Version number 6.1.18.3 arrives a few weeks after version 6.0.14.1, which brought a change linked to the raise-to-wake feature. The file is 23.72 MB in size and appears to be rolling out to users in phases.
According to the release notes shared by users on Reddit, the 6.1.18.3 update brings support for double tap to wake the screen. In always on display (AOD) mode, you can now choose to show or hide the notification icon; this setting can be accessed in Settings > Display > Always On. With this update, the Active 2 also gains Glove mode, which should be helpful in cold climates. Plus, the change log states that the design of the watch’s shortcut cards has been optimized.
The full release notes can be found in the image below. On Reddit, users note that a bug, which means you must double press a button to start, pause or lap during a workout, is still present in this update. Amazfit has yet to indicate when users can expect a resolution for this issue. It is unclear when software version number 6.1.18.3 will reach all units of the Active 2 smartwatch (~curr. $99.99 at Amazon).
