The Garmin Fenix 7, Fenix 7x, Fenix 7s, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches are receiving a new beta update: version 22.05. This latest release arrives around a week after version 22.03, which brought new metrics for the HIIT activity.
Garmin beta version 22.05 has three bug fixes for the Fenix 7 and related smartwatches. Firstly, the company has resolved an issue which could cause the wearable to crash when a user attempts to connect a GoPro via the Connect IQ app. The second bug fix relates to a problem where the music volume page did not update as expected.
Finally, Garmin says that it has fixed a possible crash issue when users tried to access the sleep coach widget. It is unclear whether this release also resolves various issues linked to the Inline Skating activity, as reported by users in forum posts.
A member of the Garmin team noted in a post on the brand’s forum that the beta version 22.05 update had been rolled out over the air (OTA) to 50% of users so far. The post also states that, as is usual for beta releases, the ECG app is unavailable for users who install this update. It remains to be seen when a stable version of this software will reach all units of the Fenix 7 (curr. $549 at Amazon).
