Withings has announced the launch of a new feature: Withings Intelligence. But it currently has two major limitations. Firstly, it is currently still in beta testing, so users should have a certain tolerance and cannot expect the feature to function completely optimally. Secondly, Withings has placed the feature behind a paywall, meaning it is only available to Withings+ subscribers. The subscription costs $9.95 per month or $99.50 per year. Not to mention the cost of the compatible wearable itself if users don't have one already. The Whoop Peak, for example, costs $239 on Amazon.
According to the company, Withings Intelligence is designed to be a personalized AI health assistant, providing real-time insights and offering automated trend detection. In other words, it provides 24/7 monitoring of certain health parameters in order recognize certain patterns and potential changes to health. In doing so, the integrated digital assistant then provides personalized recommendations for the optimization of well-being and answers questions in real time.
The system is designed to impress with its in-depth data analysis. In our experience, such AI systems are quite good at detecting correlations in very large amounts of data that are not recognizable at first glance. A (fictitious) example for Withings Intelligence could be that the assistant finds out that starting training an hour later on certain days leads to reduced recovery the following day.
