Withings ScanWatch 2 smartwatch gets improved heart rate tracking with new update
Withings has released a new update for the ScanWatch 2. The smartwatch launched in September 2023, and the last software release, firmware 2091, arrived in March. Now, customers can download Firmware 3.0, bringing new features and improvements to the wearable.
The first section of the release notes indicates that the heart rate algorithm has been improved. The new version is said to enhance the accuracy and precision of heart rate data for activities such as walking, cycling and running. On top of this, the UI has been refreshed (see image below). Withings lists other UI improvements found in the workout and navigation sections. A Watchface feature has been added to the settings menu, which is set to Large by default. Plus, when tracking your menstrual cycle, your cycle state is said to be displayed more clearly.
Finally, sleep tracking has been improved. Users can view their sleep duration in the Withings app, though those using the Sleep Analyzer instead of the ScanWatch will see this data on their watch. If you wear both devices while sleeping, the Sleep Analyzer's data is used to "ensure consistency in the data". You can look for Firmware 3.0 for your Withings ScanWatch 2 via the Withings App by going to Devices > ScanWatch Vitals > All settings > Check for updates.
