Garmin Forerunner 965: Mid-range smartwatch gains a bounty of changes and new features with new update
Garmin has kicked off the development of a major new software revision for the Forerunner 965 (curr. $579.89 on Amazon), which currently remains the most expensive option in the Forerunner series. To recap, the company has left the smartwatch running v19.xx builds since May, having pushed Beta Version 19.13 to Beta Program participants and Software Version 19.18 to those running stable builds. Now, it has started rolling out the first v20.xx update, which is exclusive to its Beta Program for the time being.
Unsurprisingly, the first v20.xx update contains over a dozen improvements from v19.18. On the one hand, Public Beta Version 20.15 features eight named bug fixes, although two of these relate to 'various' improvements. Thus, the full list of changes likely extends beyond the fourteen shown below.
On the other hand, Public Beta Version 20.15 introduces Garmin Share, which the company describes as a tool for sharing 'workouts, courses, and waypoints between compatible Garmin devices'. Additionally, the update adds the option of backing up and restoring Forerunner 965 device settings. Please see the changelog below for more details.
