Garmin is pushing beta version 22.03 to the Fenix 7, Fenix 7x, Fenix 7s, Epix, Enduro 2, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2 smartwatches. The update arrived a couple of weeks after the stable software version 21.19 release, which added a new Breathing Variations tool, an updated Running Track Database and various improvements linked to sensors.
Now, users of these Garmin smartwatches gain Reps and Set time data fields for the HIIT activity. The rest screen for the swimming activity is said to have been improved, though no further details are provided. Plus, Garmin has removed the ‘edit’ option from Garmin Coach workouts where editing is impossible.
Beta version 22.03 also includes a range of bug fixes. These tackle an issue with the activity map, activity power modes and the HRV glance. A problem where the music volume was not updating correctly has been resolved, as has a possible crash when a user attempted to open the connection information page. The full release notes can be found below.
In a recent post in the Garmin forum, a representative for the company notes that the software has been rolled out to approximately 20% of users so far; there is no indication as to when the phased rollout will be complete. The company also notes that ECG is available in this update, suggesting that a stable version could soon be available for all users of the Fenix 7 (currently from $599.99 at Amazon) and related smartwatches.
