It has been a few years since OnePlus and Oppo moved from being sister companies to forming a merger. Since then, many products announced by either brand have been rebadged by the other. That trend is going to continue with the Oppo Watch X2 Mini which has now been confirmed will launch as the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm.
When the Oppo Watch X2 Mini was first announced in March, we speculated that it may be released as a smaller-sized variant of the OnePlus Watch 3, since the OnePlus Watch 3 is actually a rebadged Oppo Watch X2. While it has taken three months, there's now official confirmation that our guess was correct.
OnePlus has announced it will unveil a new smartwatch called the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm on July 8 during its Summer Launch Event. As the name says, the upcoming smartwatch is a smaller variant of the OnePlus Watch 3 (available on Amazon.de for €329) which has a 47mm case.
The promotional page for the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm shows the watch will have a silver bezel and off-white textured silicone straps. This color corresponds with the Moonlight Silver variant of the Oppo Watch X2 Mini. However, it remains to be seen if this will be the only color available for global markets.
The OnePlus Watch 3 43mm is being advertised not only as a smaller version of the OnePlus Watch 3 but a thinner and lighter version that is comfortable to wear all-day. Although that smaller and thinner body will come with its own downsides, specifically a shorter battery life based on the specifications of the Oppo Watch X2 Mini.
Nevrtheless, the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm should cost less than its bigger sibling when it launches on July 8 in Europe, the UK, India, and North America.
