The Watch X2 Mini has joined the Pad 4 Pro, Find X8 Ultra and the Find X8s series today during Oppo's extensive product launch event in China. To recap, Oppo has been offering the Watch X2 with a 47 mm since February after OnePlus presented its equivalent and successor to its Watch 2 (curr. $245 on Amazon).
By contrast, the Watch X2 Mini lines up with a 43 mm case size that also benefits from a minor redesign. As the company's promotional images show, Oppo has ditched the quasi-crown guard that it offers on the Watch X2. Instead, the digital crown and single physical button sit proud away from its compact housing as they do on many other smartwatches.
With that being said, the Watch X2 Mini is likely to be primarily controlled via its AMOLED display, which measures 1.5-inches across with a 466 x 466-pixel native resolution and 1,000 nits peak brightness. Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset returns, as does a BES2800BP low-power chipset that helps deliver up to 7 days of battery life from the Watch X2 Mini's 354 mAh battery. Please note that Oppo's official battery life estimates drop to 1.5 days when using the smartwatch intensively.
Regardless, it seems unlikely that the Watch X2 Mini will need recharging daily. The Watch X2 Mini misses out on ECG functionality, but comes with an integrated GPS module and what Oppo describes as a particularly accurate heart rate sensor. Oppo's latest smartwatch starts at CNY 1,799 (~$247) in China and rises to CNY 2,099 (~$288) in its lavish 18k gold variant. As with all of Oppo's releases today, it is currently unclear whether the Watch X2 Mini will receive a global release.
