Oppo has just released the Watch X2 Mini as a smaller variant to its existing Watch X2 smartwatch. Vivo is not far behind with its alternative though, which it will officially present on April 21 alongside the X200 Ultra, X200s, Pad5 Pro and other devices. In the meantime, the company has shared a few details about how the Watch 5 will differ from the existing Watch 3.
For example, battery life is said to have been improved from 16 days with the Watch 3 to 22 days on the Watch 5. Presumably, Vivo has been able to achieve these official estimates thanks to the inclusion of its 'Blue River' proprietary operating system rather than Wear OS. Nonetheless, 22 days of battery life would see the Watch 5 lasting upwards of a week longer than equivalents like the Xiaomi Watch S3 (curr. $149.99 on Amazon).
The Watch 5 will also support what Vivo describes as a 30-second 'rapid risk assessment' with arrhythmia analysis and heart health studies. Moreover, the smartwatch will offer blood pressure monitoring and 'professional' AI running guidance. While full information about the Watch 5 will not be known until April 21, we suspect Vivo will reveal a few additional details between now and then.
