The launch of the Amazfit Active 2 Premium smartwatch in Europe has been delayed. This model was announced in January alongside the standard Active 2 wearable and launched in the US in February, though this was after a similar delay.
Initially, the Amazfit Active 2 Premium smartwatch was expected to be released in late March or early April. Now, Reddit users have reported that Amazfit Italia has confirmed a new launch date of late April or early May. This is backed up by retailers like Alza, which shows an expected shipping date of April 30th for this wearable. It is worth noting that Amazfit has not publicly announced the release date of this model, and there could be further delays. Many customers have expressed their frustration with the lack of communication on Reddit.
There are a few differences between the regular Amazfit Active 2 and the Premium version. For example, the Premium model has a matte casing and comes with two straps, a black leather strap and an orange silicone band. The more expensive version also features Sapphire crystal glass, making it more durable than the original. Plus, the Premium edition offers contactless payments via NFC, with the ability to store up to eight cards in Zepp Pay.
The Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch is expected to retail for £129.90/€129.90 in Europe (curr. $129.99 at Amazon US), making it €30 more expensive than the standard version which has a £99.90/€99.90 RRP.
