Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch users have started to receive a new update. It follows the recent update 6.0.8.4, which brought local music storage to the wearable. Firmware version 6.0.12.3 is a 13.49MB file, which appears to be rolling out to customers in phases. So far, it has been reported by some customers in countries including the US and Germany.
The change log for version 6.012.3 notes four improvements. The readiness score is said to be ‘smarter’, more closely aligned with your sleep. While users are optimistic about this update, initial results do not appear to show much difference. Secondly, the always-on display setting is now brighter, making it even easier to read the screen in bright conditions. Workout messaging has been enhanced, serving the content directly to the user instead of via a pop-up. Finally, a meditation app has been added to the Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch (curr. $99.99 at Amazon).
One change which has been flagged by users, but is not mentioned in the release notes, is more accurate step counting. It appears that an earlier issue with this algorithm has been fixed through this update. When it is available to you, the update will be downloadable via the Zepp app. To do this, go to Profile > My Devices > Amazfit Active 2 > System Update.
