Fitbit is rolling out a new update with redesigned pages. This time, it is the Health Metrics section of the app that has been refreshed, access from a tile on the Today tab. Previously, the company updated the interface for sleep, heart rate, and stress level tracking.
On the redesigned Health Metrics landing page, the Fitbit team has made each metric easier to read with a larger font size. The same five measurements are shown: breathing rate (BR), blood oxygen (SpO2), resting heart rate (RHR), heart rate variability (HRV) and skin temp variation. Plus, there is a new diagram at the top showing how many of these daily metrics are within your personal range.
As part of the refresh, the Trends tab has been removed. Now, when users want to view historical data, they must click on each statistic individually to open a new page. Here, you can select from week, month or year view and scroll through your logged data. This update has received mixed reviews from customers. Many have voiced their frustration on Reddit about the removal of the Trends page, while others prefer the modern look and like the range chart.
These redesigned health metrics pages are available for iOS and Android users, and both Premium and non-subscribers. In other news, Google has recently announced that it is phasing out Google Assistant for its Sense and Versa 3 wearables. The tool will be gradually removed in the next few weeks. Instead, these users can use Amazon Alexa, though this feature is currently only available in some languages and countries. As a reminder, Google Assistant was never available on newer models like the Sense 2 and Versa 4 (curr. $169 at Amazon).
