A new update has arrived for the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch. Version 3.6.5.9 is a 19.57MB file, which appears to be rolling out to users globally in phases. The previous update, version 3.5.7.1, was released in February, bringing HYROX-related changes to the wearable.
Version 3.6.5.9 upgrades the T-Rex 3 to Zepp OS 4.5 from Zepp OS 4.0. The release notes state that the update brings a new Real-time Performance metric for Trail Running activities. This allows you to track your “physical status” in real-time, with further analysis also available in the workout record. You can switch on this tool by going to Trail Running > Assistant > More > Real-time Performance.
With this release, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch (~curr $234.99 at Amazon) also gets an improvement for HYROX race. Users can now track the time spent in the Roxzone, the space between the running track and other exercise stations. There is also an enhancement for the map, with support for map downloads via Bluetooth and a more detailed terrain; glaciers, shrubs and wetlands are now shown.
GPS pacing is said to be more stable, which should benefit city runners surrounded by tall buildings or those who run in woodland. Plus, the Readiness algorithm has been optimized, though users have yet to provide feedback on this change. As usual, this version 3.6.5.9 update will be available to download via the Zepp app. Users should go to Profile > Amazfit T-Rex 3 > System Update.
