Amazfit has now released the Bip 6, which has leaked a few times in the last month or so. For context, the Bip 6 arrives roughly 18 months after the Bip 5 that Amazfit initially sold for $89.99.
By contrast, the Bip 6 is available for $79.99 in any of its Black, Charcoal, Red and Stone finishes. While the Bip 6 is much cheaper than its predecessor, it is not a cut-price option. Instead, Amazfit has included upgrades in several areas.
For example, Amazfit has swapped the 1.91-inch TFT panel it uses in the Bip 5 for an AMOLED alternative that measures 1.97-inches across. Not only should the new display be more vibrant than the one in the Bip 5, but it should also be much brighter thanks to 2,000 nits peak brightness. In comparison, the Bip 5 reaches a mere 450 nits.
On top of that, the Bip 6 boasts up to 14 days of battery life from a 340 mAh battery, compared to 10 days with the Bip 5. Moreover, Amazfit has swapped in its latest BioTracker 6.0 heart rate sensor that supports heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring, which it complements with dual-band GNSS and offline map navigation.
Finally, all these upgrades have been wrapped up in an aluminium alloy frame that weighs 27.9 g and its 5 ATM water resistant. As usual, Amazfit pre-installs countless watch faces, workout modes and health monitoring apps. Please see Amazfit's website for more details.
