Xiaomi has launched an upgraded version of the Redmi G27Q, which bumps up the refresh rate to 240 Hz. To compare, the last-generation of this gaming monitor sports a 180 Hz refresh rate. While this might seem like a minor upgrade, the higher refresh rate is capable of offering a slight edge over the previous model in competitive games.
The other aspects of the newly released Redmi G27Q 240 Hz gaming monitor appear to be the same as the 180 Hz model. To be specific, the 27-inch display is still an IPS panel with a 1 ms GTG response time and QHD resolution. Like the previous version, there's support for HDR400, and the panel is said to cover 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 color spaces.
Another notable highlight of the new Redmi G27Q gaming monitor is FreeSync Premium support. With that, the panel promises tear-free and smoother gameplay than regular monitors. Xiaomi has also integrated its "Qingshan Eye Care" solution, which aims to offer a comfortable viewing experience. The new gaming monitor comes with a decent set of connectivity ports as well, including:
- 2x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.0
- 1x audio jack
Design-wise, the new Xiaomi 240 Hz Redmi G27Q didn't see any significant changes. The new version sports a sleek-looking body with narrow bezels for easy multi-monitor setup (Huanuo dual monitor arm curr. $50.99 on Amazon). Its base has multiple adjustment options, including height, tilt, and rotation.
As for the price, the 240 Hz Redmi G27Q launched in China with a starting price of CNY 1,199, about $165. Xiaomi has yet to share details about the global availability and pricing of this new gaming monitor.
