The MSI MAG 275QPF X30 is a new 27-inch gaming monitor with a 1440p resolution. Whilst this resolution is fairly standard for a gaming monitor, displays designed for productivity and multitasking should preferably have a 4K resolution. The MAG 275QPF X30 boasts a maximum refresh rate of 300 Hz, ensuring an ultra-smooth viewing experience. MSI claims a grey-to-grey response time of just 0.5 ms. The monitor also supports Adaptive Sync for synchronising its refresh rate with a graphics card’s frame rate.
Because it uses a Rapid IPS panel, the MAG 275QPF X30 has a slightly lower contrast ratio and peak brightness than an OLED or mini LED display. It offers a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 and an SDR brightness of 400 cd/m², which is enough to meet the requirements for DisplayHDR 400 certification. MSI states that the monitor covers 89% of the Adobe RGB gamut, though it is likely not ideal for graphic design work.
The monitor features HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a inputs, alongside an obligatory audio jack. Apart from that, it lacks additional I/O options, such as a USB hub and a KVM switch. The supplied stand allows users to adjust the monitor’s position, including its height. Information on pricing and availability hasn’t been announced yet. The Asus ROG Strix XG27AQMR (available here on Amazon) may be an alternative worth considering.
