AOC has updated its budget gaming monitor series with a new pair of high refresh rate options. To recap, the company released two new Agon Pro options at the start of the month with higher refresh rates than existing Agon Pro models like the AG276QZD2 (curr. $649.99 on Amazon). Now, it has brought out the CU34G4Z and 25G4SXU under its Agon series.
According to AOC, it has designed both monitors with Esports players in mind. To that end, the Agon 25G4SXU features a 300 Hz refresh rate that it can overclock to 310 Hz when needed. By contrast, the Agon CU34G4Z peaks at just 240 Hz. However, it does so with a higher native resolution than the Agon 25G4SXU.
Specifically, the Agon 25G4SXU and Agon CU34G4Z output at 1080p and 1440p, respectively. Please note that while both monitors also offer 1 ms GtG response times, only the smaller Agon 25G4SXU utilises IPS panel technology. Meanwhile, the Agon CU34G4Z leverages a VA panel with a 1500R curvature. As a result, the Agon CU34G4Z is the brighter of the two monitors at 450 nits and also the more contrast-rich thanks to a 2,500:1 contrast ratio.
In comparison, the Agon 25G4SXU provides superior colour accuracy and wider viewing angles. Both monitors feature USB 3.2 Gen 1 hubs though, as well as DisplayPort and HDMI ports. According to AOC, both monitors will be available later this month. Initially, the Agon 25G4SXU will be priced at £199 (~$258), which makes it over 40% cheaper than the Agon CU34G4Z (£369/~$478).
