Earlier this week, AOC launched two new gaming monitors that it claimed it had designed with Esports gamers in mind. While the Agon CU34G4Z and Agon 25G4SXU reach 240 Hz and 310 Hz, respectively, Asus' latest pair of competing options go much further.
On the one hand, the ROG Strix XG32UCG leverages a 32-inch Nano IPS panel that combines a 320 Hz refresh rate with a 1080p resolution. Alternatively, the monitor can drop its refresh rate to 160 Hz, which ups its resolution to 4K. Regardless of resolution and refresh rate combination, the ROG Strix XG32UCG maintains 0.3 ms GtG response times, 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 350 nits SDR or 400 nits HDR brightness.
On the other hand, the ROG Strix XG248Q5G-P can reach 610 Hz when overclocked courtesy of a TN panel that measures 24.1-inches across and outputs at 1080p. According to Asus, this panel also delivers 90% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, 0.1 ms response times and variable refresh rate technologies via AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync. As the images below show, both monitors feature modern ports like HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C with Power Delivery support.
The ROG Strix XG248Q5G-P will launch next month in China for CNY 7,999 (~$1,097). By contrast, the ROG Strix XG32UCG will be available for CNY 3,999 (~$548), although it is unclear exactly when at this stage. Presumably, both monitors will reach other markets later this year, just as the ROG Strix XG27UCDMG and ROG Swift PG27UCDM (curr. $1,199 on Amazon) did earlier this year. To that end, Asus has already listed the ROG Strix XG32UCG on its global website, where you can find more technical details.
