Garmin is rolling out the beta version 14.05 update for the Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches. This is the second update in the new 14.xx testing cycle, following the release of stable software version 13.19 in March, which improved Voice Assistant for Android users.
Beta version 14.05 addresses an issue with the popular Morning Report tool, where some images were not displayed as expected. The update also fixes a bug where workouts did not update when using the Garmin Coach glance. Plus, the release notes for version 14.05 state that there are other minor bug fixes and improvements without further details being shared.
It is unclear whether this includes a recently reported issue with the lock screen, which was discussed in the Garmin forum. According to a couple of customers, a bug in an older beta update caused the screen to turn black when locked, rather than displaying the lock symbol. While a member of the Garmin team acknowledged the issue, there have been no further updates.
Eligible users of Venu 3, Venu 3s and vivoactive 5 smartwatches can download the update by going to the Main Menu > Settings > System > Software Update. As per usual, the company notes that the ECG feature is disabled during beta testing for users of the Venu 3 smartwatch (45mm Black version curr. $449 at Amazon).
