Fresh details about the prospect of Garmin releasing the Instinct 3 Tactical have turned up online, roughly two months after the smartwatch's last appearance. To recap, February's leak originated from an influencer who showcased the smartwatch ahead of schedule. This time, a Redditor has discovered a photo of the same device buried in a Garmin Vietnam press release.
Showcased alongside the Tactix 8 (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon), Garmin Vietnam does not mention the Instinct 3 Tactical by name. Instead, the word 'Tactical' can be made out beneath the device's display, which is also rocking a new watch face. Incidentally, the website Lowyat got its hands on a higher-resolution version of the same image, which we have embedded below.
Based on currently available information, it seems that Garmin intends to release the Instinct 3 Tactical with AMOLED and MiP display options. Both versions are expected to feature a kill switch for deleting all data with a single button press, as well as a stealth mode that disables all connectivity. Given that Garmin had promotional images ready last month and was distributing review units to influencers in February, we suspect that the Instinct 3 Tactical will officially launch this side of the summer.
