One of Garmin’s smartwatches is receiving software version 5.10. This stable update brings two bug fixes to the dedicated golfing wearable. These resolve a couple of problems which are linked to the watch’s GPS functionality and its list of golf courses and associated layouts.

A new update has arrived for the Garmin Approach S62 smartwatch: software version 5.10. It has landed over a year after the previous update, version 5.00, which added support for PulseOx Spot Checks to be shown in Garmin Connect Manager, and updated the wearable’s GPS.

Software version 5.10 brings two bug fixes to the Approach S62. This Garmin update resolves a problem with the golf course list, where some course layouts were accidentally omitted. There was also a problem linked to the GPS Extended Prediction Orbit (EPO) files, which are used to reduce GPS acquisition times, typically lowering them to under 30 seconds. According to the change log, an issue which led to the wrong status being shown has been resolved.

In a post in the Garmin forum, a representative for the company stated that this stable update was already available for all users of the Approach S62 (curr. $469.90 at Amazon). To download this update, go to either the Garmin Connect or Garmin Golf apps on your smartphone, or Garmin Express on your computer.
