A few months have passed since Google released the Pixel Watch 4 in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes (curr. $399.99 on Amazon). Meanwhile, the Google-owned Fitbit has not introduced any new hardware in two years. To recap, the Charge 6 arrived in September 2023, with the Inspire 3, Sense 2 and Versa 4 appearing a year earlier.
Now, Fitbit is said to have confirmed that new hardware is on the way. However, the company is due to miss out 2025 altogether, having avoided introducing any devices in 2024 either. Instead, 9to5Google reports that Google has confirmed Fitbit will be launching new hardware 'next year'.
Unfortunately, neither Google nor Fitbit have elaborated further. Thus, it is unclear when any new Fitbit wearables will arrive. Likewise, there are no indications yet about what or how many wearables Fitbit could have in development.
As a result, there is every chance that Fitbit moves onto an entirely new model rather than returning to the Charge, Inspire, Sense or Versa series that it has offered previously. The introduction of new Fitbit hardware could coincide with the full rollout of the Fitbit Coach app, though. Now available as a public preview, the Fitbit Coach app will receive a stable public release sometime during 2026, too.
