The manufacturer of the Mudita Kompakt, the minimalist Android smartphone with an E Ink display, has announced its next product. Rather than a successor to the Kompakt or another E Ink-toting device, the Polish brand has opted to return to making watches.
Yes, the new watch, called the Mudita Radiant, isn't Mudita's first time-telling product. Its product portfolio includes the Mudita Element watch, which was launched last year. There's also the Mudita Bell 2 and Mudita Harmony 2, which are alarm clocks with an analog and E Ink display, respectively.
The Radiant is a Swiss-made automatic field watch powered by the Sellita SW 200 Elaboré automatic movement. According to the info on the Kickstarter page, the watch is manufactured, hand-assembled, and fine-tuned by renowned Swiss watch manufacturer, Chrono AG.
The Mudita Radiant has a brushed stainless steel case that is about 10.5 mm thick. It also has a crown guard and sapphire crystal glass with a multi-layer anti-reflective coating. The 12-hour dial features hands and hour markers that are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9, a bright luminous material for easy readability at nighttime. In addition, the Radiant has an Incabloc shock protection system that safeguards the watch's movement.
Rated 10 ATM for water resistance, the Mudita Radiant is available in Natural White, Sand Beige, Moss Green, Baltic Blue, and Charcoal Black with matching quick-release straps, including a Pebble Gray variant. The straps are made from reinforced textile that is durable and soft, and feature a stainless steel buckle. The Radiant is a unisex watch and will be available in 32, 37, and 40 mm case sizes. Each watch has a unique number engraved on the back, making it a collector's item.
The Mudita Radiant has smashed its Kickstarter crowdfunding goal of $17,389 and still has 26 days to go. As of the time of writing, it has received over $55,000 from 90 backers. Those who pre-order the watch will get it for €559, which is the super early bird price. There's also the early bird price of €599 and the bundle price of €879 for two watches. The retail price when the campaign ends is €699 (~$812), which is significantly cheaper than the $999 Mudita Element (available on Amazon). Shipping is expected to begin in May 2026.
