DJI Osmo Mobile 8: Early unboxing video showcases upgrades over Osmo Mobile 7 before official release

Just yesterday, leaker Igor Bogdanov shared the first concrete leaks about DJI's next smartphone camera gimbal. As prior evidence had indicated, DJI would soon be replacing the Osmo Mobile 7 (curr. $75 on Amazon) with a direct successor called the Osmo Mobile 8.

Now, the first unboxing video has emerged online courtesy of Bogdanov and Güçlü Atamer. For reference, the video was originally posted to TikTok by Camera Joint. On the one hand, the video confirms that DJI has begun distributing the Osmo Mobile 8 to retailers, aligning with rumours that the camera gimbal will launch within the next few weeks.

On the other hand, the video also emphasises that the Osmo Mobile 8 carries over many of the features from the Osmo Mobile 7P that helped distinguish it from the cheaper Osmo Mobile 7. For instance, the Osmo Mobile 8 contains a Multifunctional Module for subject tracking purposes. Likewise, the Osmo Mobile 8 has a built-in LED light and can charge a smartphone as needed. Pricing has not emerged yet, although it is only a matter of time before online retailer listings start popping up.
