New leaks indicate that DJI is planning to release its next-gen gimbal-mounted pocket camera before the end of 2025, after all. There's also potentially an additional model launching alongside the Pocket 4.

Previously, we reported on the DJI Pocket 4 as the latest pocketable gimbal camera to come out of the compact camera maker, but new leaks and rumours out of The New Camera claim that various anonymous sources familiar with DJI's supply chain have effectively confirmed that the DJI Pocket 4 will launch before the end of 2025.

What's more, the new compact camera will apparently be accompanied by a new model, the DJI Pocket 4 Pro, which will launch around the same time — although not much else is known about this Pro model aside from that it will launch around the end of 2025. It will feature the same form factor as the vanilla Pocket 4, but it will likely expand on its capabilities somewhat. This is also the first mention of a Pro version that will be launching alongside the Pocket 4, so this should be taken with a grain of salt.

DJI Pocket 4 expected specs

The last time we checked in on the DJI Pocket 4, leaked images of the new compact camera suggested that it would feature a dual-lens setup, with a secondary rear-mounted camera presumably for selfies and creative framing opportunities. According to the leaks out of The New Camera, the Pocket 4 will only feature one camera and mostly concentrate its efforts on improved zoom capabilities. It also seems as though the DJI Pocket 4 will be the first DJI camera to use Hasselblad tuning, aside from the one on the Mavic 4 Pro, after DJI's acquisition of the legendary camera brand. A leaked NDA and images of a prototype of the DJI Pocket 4 previously revealed that the new gimbal camera will be significantly more compact than the Pocket 3 (curr. $628.90 on Amazon), with an additional 35% weight reduction also on the cards. It will also seemingly carry forward the rotating viewfinder found on the Pocket 3.

Claims of the Pocket 4's single-camera setup also suggest that the DJI Pocket 4 camera shown off in the previous leaks — the one with the secondary rear-mounted lens — may have been the Pocket 4 Pro, after all. The sensor purportedly being used here is the new OmniVision 50 MP, 1/1.3-inch sensor that will also make its way to the likes of Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi flagship smartphones.

DJI is also slated to launch the Osmo Action 6 later this month, so it'll be a stacked month for video creators and outdoor or action camera enthusiasts alike.
