Rumours about Miyoo creating a new clamshell gaming handheld have been rumbling along for months at this point. To recap, initial images surfaced in May showing the so-called Miyoo Mini Flip in a single colour option. Compared directly with the existing Miyoo Flip (curr. $65.99 on Amazon), the Mini Flip appeared to be even shorter than the Mini V4 when closed.
Since then, other batches of images have emerged, highlighting the Mini Flip in multiple colours. Just recently, a source indicated that Miyoo would be launching the device soon too, albeit without specifying further. Now, not only has Miyoo posted a short teaser video of the same device, but it has also confirmed that the device will debut globally at 03:00 UTC on October 20.
Embedded below, the video confirms that Miyoo will be offering the Mini Flip in five colours, all with a 750 x 560-pixel display. Although Miyoo has not confirmed as much yet, this is likely the 2.8-inch panel from the Mini V4. Also, the video implies that the Mini Flip has a sturdy hinge, which remains a sore point of the Flip and Flip V2. We would recommend reserving judgement until independent reviews arrive, though. Pricing remains a mystery for now, as do full device specifications.
