Magic V6: Honor confirms battery downgrade for global model

Honor has just released the Magic V6 in China. Previewed earlier this month globally, the Magic V6 will be the first foldable to ship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Strictly speaking that will only be true in China, though. Currently, Honor has hinted at summer 2026 shipments globally, possibly after Samsung replaces the Galaxy Z Fold7 (curr. $1,035 - refurbished on Amazon).
Also, Honor has inadvertently confirmed that the Magic V6 will ship with inferior hardware outside China. To recap, the company revealed full global hardware specifications on March 1 during MWC 2026. For reference, we have provided an overview in the image below.
Two differences stand out with the Magic V6's Chinese release, though. On the one hand, Honor is offering the device with up to 1 TB of storage in its home market. While the global version will be configurable with 16 GB of RAM too, it will top out at 512 GB of storage with no microSD card expansion to make up that gap.
On the other hand, the Magic V6 features significantly larger battery options in China than elsewhere. For context, the device will ship globally with a 6,600 mAh combined capacity. By default, Honor equips the Magic V6 with a 3.78% larger capacity in China. However, configuring 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage swaps this 6,850 mAh capacity for a 7,150 mAh alternative. Unfortunately, Honor has decided to furnish its fans in other markets with a 7.7% smaller battery capacity.
