Magic V6: Honor beats Apple, Google, Oppo and Samsung in revealing first next-gen foldable

As promised, Honor has now showcased the Magic V6 just before the start of MWC 2026. Beating the Galaxy Z Fold8, Find N6, X Fold6 Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the rumoured iPhone Fold to the punch, the Magic V6 builds on last year's Magic V5 in several areas (curr. $1,560 on Amazon).
Like previous generations, the Magic V6 is thinner than its predecessor. Officially, this year's Magic V6 is 4.1 mm thick when unfolded or 4 mm for its white variant. The device closes to produce a 9 mm thick form factor when closed, which drops to 8.75 mm in the case of its white variant.
Nonetheless, all variants feature a 6,600 mAh battery for a 13.4% increase on the Magic V5 globally. Charging has increased from 66 W wired and 50 W wireless to 80 W wired and 66 W wireless, too. This battery increase has coincided with the adoption of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, as well as IP69 dust and water certification.
Also, Honor has reduced the bezels surrounding the cover display to install a 6.52-inch panel without making the Magic V6 any bigger than its predecessor. The cover display is said to reach 6,000 nits this year too for a 1,000-nit boost. Meanwhile, the internal display remains a 7.95-inch AMOLED that outputs at 2,172 x 2,352 pixels with a 1-120 Hz refresh rate and 5,000 nits peak brightness.
Rumours of Honor adopting a new camera system were wide of the mark, though. If anything, the Magic V6's have regressed thanks to an f/2.2 and 15 mm ultra-wide-angle camera. The 1/2-inch, 70 mm and 64 MP telephoto, plus the f/1.6 and 50 MP primary from last year's model have returned. The Magic V6 is also a few grammes heavier than its predecessor at 224 g for most colours and 219 g for its white variant.
