Google Home adds Gemini “Live Search” for live camera feeds

In Google’s March 2, 2026, release notes, the company says users on the Advanced plan of Google Home Premium can now “Live Search” camera streams “to understand the current state of your home,” and that camera searching was previously limited to earlier footage.
Google hasn’t listed specific supported cameras for Live Search in the release notes. The Google Store page for Google Home Premium says the subscription works with Google Nest cameras and doorbells, while also noting that features can vary by product and country.
Pricing and rollout notes
Google Home Premium Advanced is listed at $20/month or $200/year on the Google Store (with a Standard plan starting at $10/month).
Google also cautions that even on the latest app version, some features “may take time to roll out to everyone.”
Other changes in the March 2026 Google Home update
Alongside Live Search, Google’s March 2 notes describe broader improvements to Gemini for Home behavior, including better device targeting (especially for people managing multiple homes), more reliable smart home commands, and updated response quality for informational questions.
On the app side, Google says it’s adding new automation starters/conditions inside the Google Home automation editor, and it’s expanding Nest x Yale Lock controls as part of a gradual rollout.
