The GM2100YM-8A comes in a silver finish with a stainless-steel bezel over a resin inner case and a tough silicone band. Case size is 49.3 × 44.4 × 11.8 mm, and weight is 84 g. It gets you 200 m water resistance, mineral glass, shock resistance, world time (31 time zones, 48 cities), 1/100-second stopwatch, 24-hour countdown timer, five daily alarms, hourly signal, and double LED backlight. Battery life is rated at roughly three years on two SR726W cells.
The GM2100YMG-9A9, on the other hand, uses a gold ion-plated bezel and matching dial treatment. Both sit within the G-Steel 2100 lineup and come equipped with the slim octagonal profile that made the "CasiOak" style, like the classic black GMAP2100BB-1A (curr. $96 on Amazon), extremely popular.
Value proposition-wise, these models sit directly below full-metal GM-B2100 variants while including a metal bezel for only $200-$240. The silicone band keeps weight lower than full stainless steel options, so if you like lighter watches for daily wear, these will be right up your alley. However, limited stock labels imply availability may be scarce.
