ZTE has presented multiple new smartphones this week at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. For instance, it has unveiled the frankly massive Neo 5 Max, full details of which we have covered separately. Additionally, it has also unveiled the Neo 5 GT as a successor to last year's Neo 3 GT.
As a result, the Neo 5 GT features a few gamer-focused touches like a small active cooling solution, rear lighting and exposed circuitry. ZTE has moved on from the Unisoc T9100 used in the Neo 3 GT too. Instead, the company has opted for the Dimensity 7400 found across the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, Edge 60 Neo and the Edge 2025 in North America (curr. $337 - renewed on Amazon).
This change alone should yield about a 20% performance improvement according to our benchmarks, which ZTE has complemented with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Also, the Neo 5 GT leverages a 6,210 mAh battery supported by 80 W charging with a vapour chamber cooling system and dedicated shoulder triggers.
Alternatively, ZTE has created the Nubia Gamepad 2 too, for those after a more conventional controller experience. Moreover, the new smartphone contains a 6.8-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. ZTE expects to begin selling the Nubia Neo 5 GT across Europe from April 2026 for a €399 (~$465) starting price.
