ZTE has brought a slew of new smartphones to MWC 2026 in Barcelona. For reference, the company has replaced the Neo 3 GT with a direct successor. Arguably, the strangest of the lot is the Neo 5 Max, which takes its name to the extreme.

On the one hand, the Neo 5 Max finds itself with a 7,100 mAh battery. That is achievable because ZTE has based the device around a huge 7.5-inch display. As a result, the Neo 5 Max dwarves even the largest flagships like the X300 Pro or the Galaxy S26 Ultra (curr. $1,299 on Amazon).

Additionally, ZTE complements this 1080p panel with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB of storage and the unreleased MediaTek Dimensity 7080 chipset. Also, the Neo 5 Max features a 50 MP primary camera, a 3x optical telephoto lens and touch-sensitive shoulder buttons like the Neo 5 GT.

ZTE includes an active cooling solution and a vapour chamber too. ZTE hopes to begin selling the Neo 5 Max next month across Europe. While the company has not confirmed pricing yet, the smaller Neo 5 GT will start at €399 (~$465) in the Eurozone.
