Casio’s new monochrome G-Shock pairs metallic accents with a compact, lightweight design
Casio’s new monochrome G-Shock GMA-P2126W-8A combines a sleek dark gray design with subtle gold accents and a metallic dial for a refined yet rugged look. Despite its compact, lightweight build, it retains hallmark G-Shock toughness, along with world time, Super Illuminator lighting, and everyday digital tools. It launches in Japan this March, with global availability expected to follow.

For the upcoming International Women’s Day, Casio is unveiling a stylish new G-Shock that aims to balance durability with understated elegance. The new G-Shock GMA-P2126W-8A is a compact analog-digital model defined by its monochrome dark gray aesthetic and a striking metallic ring that frames its signature octagonal bezel.

The case, bezel, and strap all adopt a deep gray finish, while the metal dial opts for a lighter silver-gray tone that catches light with a subtle reflective glow. White hour and minute hands with black outlines improve legibility, while gold accents surrounding the bar indices lend a premium touch and symbolize optimism in a nod to the spirit of International Women’s Day.

Casio bills the GMA-P2126W-8A as the perfect everyday wear watch “for women who live each day with determination and optimism.” It’s a surprisingly lightweight watch, weighing just 41g, thanks in large part to the use of bio-based resin for the band and bezel. But this doesn’t come at the cost of durability, with the watch still offering the same impact-resistant body and up to 200 meters of water resistance we’ve come to expect from a G-Shock.

The hybrid dial integrates a compact LCD that complements the analog hands without overwhelming the minimalist design and supports practical everyday tools, including world time across 48 cities and 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a fully automatic calendar. A hand retraction function temporarily moves the analog hands out of the way for an unobstructed view of the display, while Casio’s Super Illuminator dual LED system lights both the dial and LCD for excellent legibility in dark surroundings. The watch runs on a standard battery rated for approximately three years.

The Casio G-Shock GMA-P2126W-8A is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in early March 2026 for ¥22,000 (about $145). Casio has yet to confirm pricing or availability for the US and other international markets.
