Casio "Manga" G-Shock: New leak reveals design statement of upcoming Japan-made watches

Fresh chatter around Casio’s upcoming Manga-themed G-Shock series indicates that the design direction is likely shifting toward a stark, graffiti-style aesthetic. A new tip shared by Instagram account @geesgshock claims the rumored DW-5600 and DW-6900 variants could feature black-and-white artwork with heavy graphic influence.
This follows earlier reports which revealed that the Japanese watch company is preparing a third installment in its celebrated Manga G-Shock lineup. Previous leaks, attributed to Great G-Shock World, pointed to Japan-made limited editions based on the DW-5600 and DW-6900 platforms. Module specifications are still expected to remain standard - no functional upgrades should be present over existing resin models.
The new rumor is important since it reveals the entire visual direction. Instead of colorful cel-shaded patterns like the GA-2100MNG, the new releases may opt for a high-contrast monochrome theme, just like stencil-style street art. The Instagram post also references Banksy-like motifs as a possibility. However, these are mere rumors - no official collab has been hinted at, and the source itself writes that this info could simply be random market chatter.
The earlier Manga GA-2100 models were commercially successful, and there are high chances that the new watches will get the same treatment. Meanwhile, models like the Origami DW-5600RGM were also appreciated for their bold, experimental design.
The DW-5600 and DW-6900 bases typically offer standard shock resistance and 20-bar water resistance. The value proposition here would likely revolve around limited production numbers and the "Made in Japan" designation.
Please note that while the source has a solid track record, this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. At this rate, we could see official confirmation of the upcoming watches as soon as next month (March).
