Epson releases new ultra short throw Google TV projector in more countries

The Epson Lifestudio Grand EH-LS970B 4K ultra short throw projector has been released in Australia and New Zealand. This home theater model was unveiled in Europe in January 2026 as a possible alternative to a TV.
Epson’s EH-LS970B is marketed as a ‘real 4K’ (8.3 million px) model with 3-chip 3LCD technology. Its laser light source is said to deliver up to 4,000 lumens brightness, expected to run for around 20,000 hours. This model can throw images up to 150 inches wide with a 0.16 - 0.4 throw ratio and 1.0 - 2.5 digital zoom. Other features include a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio and support for HDR10+ and HLG.
The Lifestudio Grand EH-LS970B uses Google TV, providing access to popular streaming services like Netflix, YouTube and Disney+. Gamers can take advantage of features like auto low latency mode (ALLM) and 20 ms input lag. As well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, there are ports like HDMI (eARC), USB-A and S/PDIF. On top of this, the Epson projector offers integrated 20W 2.1 channel speakers, with Dolby Audio and Sound by Bose. It measures 341 x 695 x 145 mm (~13.4 x 27.4 x 5.7 inches).
You can now buy the Epson EH-LS970B projector in Australia for AU$6,399 and in New Zealand for NZ$7,499. The Epson EH-LS970B 4K ultra short throw projector is expected to be released in Europe in April 2026. It is unclear when it will arrive in North America.
