New special edition Epson Lifestudio Flex EF-73 projector launches

Epson has launched a new projector: the Lifestudio Flex Special Lux Edition EF-73. It has arrived several months after the company unveiled the Lifestudio Flex EF-71 and Flex EF-72 (curr. $949.99 at Amazon) portable projectors.
Like the earlier models, the Epson EF-73 is designed for watching movies or sports, or gaming at home. The Special Lux Edition projector is made with “premium” materials, including an anodised gold stand with a suede base. There is also tempered glass on the sides, with a gold-flecked top panel. It has the same integrated ambient LED lighting, and this model adds a wireless smartphone charger to the base of the stand.
Aside from its new design and the additional charging feature, the Epson EF-73 appears to be identical to the EF-72. It is a 4K model, powered by the brand’s Triple Core Engine, which combines 3LCD and RGB-LED technologies. Its light source is said to deliver up to 1,000 lumens brightness, and the projector can throw images up to 150 inches wide. Users can adjust the projection angle using the integrated stand, which tilts and swivels. Plus, the Intelligent Instant Setup feature brings tools like Auto Focus, Auto Keystone and Auto Screen Fit.
The Epson EF-73 is a Google TV projector, with streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. For gaming, there is an ALLM mode with less than 20 ms input lag, and there are also built-in Sound By Bose speakers, compatible with Dolby Audio. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6, and there are ports like HDMI (ARC/eARC), USB-A and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The Epson Lifestudio Flex Special Lux Edition EF-73 will be released in Europe in April 2026. It is already available in other countries like Hong Kong and Japan. At the time of writing, it is unclear whether or when the model could arrive in North America.
